Style Diary # 14
Holiday season has finally arrived, and lets just say I couldn’t be happier. It’s time for Christmas music, decorations, presents, spending time with family and overall being joyful of all the beautiful things that surround us on a daily basis. It truly is known as the season to be joyful, and it is in my opinion the best gift that you could give yourself and others as well, not just this time of the year (even though for some reason, we tend to be particularly joyful just around the holidays) but all year around. The gift of joy, I believe is something that we at times take for granted and don’t honestly appreciate it as much as we should. Think about it, “When you choose joy, you feel good. And when you feel good, you do good. And when you do good it reminds others of what joy feels like and it might inspire them to do the same.” It’s like this undeniable snowball effect that reminds us of how beautiful things really are. So just because we are full swing into holiday cheer, lets be reminded to spread joy all year ‘round.
Joy to me has always been about feeling good internally as well as externally. The way that you feel inside is a true reflection of what you feel outside. If you are feeling unhappy, that is what you are going to reflect externally, be it in your overall demeanor or even in the clothes that you wear. But if you are always joyful and grateful of the things that you have in your life, that is what you are going to attract, pure JOY. This year has been one that I have been especially grateful for, because of all the beautiful things that I have attracted through my overall joy of life, and appreciation of my life’s journey. I was able to create this blog this year, to document not just my style, but to share a place where I can look back at all the things that bring me joy.
Nonetheless, in life what I want to accomplish is attracting joy in everything that I do, and that begins with feeling good about myself, especially with pieces that I wear. I have this internal joy in me and it causes me to feel beautiful on the outside as well, especially with this blouse. Check out this breathtaking navy gingham piece with its billowy sleeves from Make Me Chic. I am obsessed with the overall neckline so I decided not to wear a necklace with it because I didn’t want to take away from it. As well as the stunning bow it gives it the perfect ornate detail without being too over the top. Because the top has so many chic elements, I decided to keep the look pretty effortless so I paired it with some slightly ripped denim jeans, some black booties, and I couldn’t end the look without a classic red lip, of course. So lets remember to keep a joyful and bow-ful attitude all year around. Tell me what bring you JOY?
I want to thank Make Me Chic for sponsoring this post.
